Coping, Cocoa + Canvas: Connected to Lead Builds Community Through Creativity

Hawthorne, CA — Connected to Lead, a Southern California nonprofit organization, hosted its latest “Coping, Cocoa + Canvas” workshop last week at Hawthorne High School, bringing parents together for an evening of creative expression, stress relief, and community connection.

The event, organized in partnership with CVUHSD Community Schools, offered a guided painting session alongside conversation and reflection on the challenges of raising teens during the holiday season. Parents shared experiences, discussed strategies for supporting their children, and emphasized the importance of community support.

Attendees enjoyed hot apple cider and informal discussion breaks, creating a relaxed environment that encouraged openness and connection. The nonprofit designed the workshop to provide parents with a space to recharge, build relationships, and strengthen support networks.

Connected to Lead expressed gratitude to @mpascual416 and CVUHSD Community Schools for their assistance in coordinating the program. The organization, which serves families across Southern California, plans to continue offering parent-focused arts and wellness programs throughout the region, citing strong participation and positive feedback from previous events.
